Appointed the first Vicar Apostolic in 1938.

When from July 1937 to May 1938 the Vicariate was restructured, Fr. Heinrich Horst of the White Fathers was appointed the first Vicar Apostolic. He established his headquarters at Ilondola in Chinsali District.
