Farewell for Fr. Piet van Heijst, M. Afr.

Fr. Piet van Heijst who has been in Mpika Diocese for over fourty years has been transferred to Ndola Diocese. He worked in the Missions of Ilondola, Chalabesa, Kayambi, Isoka, Mbala and Serenje, where he has been since 1995. He now goes to a community in Kitwe. On 19th July he came to Mpika to bid fare well to the bishop, priests, religious and some of the lay faithful he had worked with in the course of his stay in the diocese. In the evening, a simple meal was held in his honour at the diocesan canteen where at least some 20 people participated.
