Rt Rev Mulandu Edwin being officially received in the house of God- St. Andrew’s main Parish Church


On Saturday, 31st July, 2021, Mpika Parish of St. Andrew marked its Golden(50th) anniversary from its inception. The colorful Golden Jubilee was celebrated in style as the Parish organized beautiful liturgy presided over by His Lordship Mulandu Edwin. During the same occasion Priests and Religious from the Parish were honoured and celebrated. St. Andrew’s Parish was erected in 1970.

Rev Fr. Silweya Jairos is the first to be ordained Priest in the Episcopate of Rt Rev Mulandu Edwin. May God inspire him in his priesthood.

Sunday, 9 August 2020 was a big day at St. Thomas Aquinas Catechetical Centre in Mulilansolo as the Diocesan Administrator, Very Rev Fr. MATEPA Justin commissioned 12 students who had completed a two year training as catechists. Among the graduates were 9 male and 3 female. The Administrator echoed the importance of Catechists in the diocese as they play a critical role in the Church’s evangelizing mission.
The Centre Director, Rev Fr. KASOLO Francis urged the graduates to take home the Catholic Faith and the culture of hard work as instructed during their training. (more…)

On Monday, 27 April 2020, Very Rev Fr. Justin Matepa pronounced the profession of Faith and oath of Fidelity as Diocesan Administrator in the presence of the College of Consultors and the Metropolitan Archbishop of Kasama, Most Rev Ignatius Chama. This follows the demise of Late Bishop Justin Mulenga
In his remarks, Fr Matepa, thanked the Consultors for the confidence they expressed by asking him to help during the period of transition as the Church of Mpika awaits the new Shepherd. He asked for support from the Clergy, Religious and the Lay faithful. The Administrator also prayed for God’s wisdom and guidance.

From 5-6 February 2019, Rt. Rev. Justin Mulenga held a meeting with Parish Priests under the theme,’Renewal of the Church and society in Mpika diocese.’ It was the first ever meeting of this nature and the Bishop announced it would be an annual event. During the same meeting. The prelate took time to run through pertinent issues that priests needed to work on in order to improve their pastoral work.
